"Aliran is no longer a nutrition or diet consultant, despite being one of the most educated people in the field."
I got to know Eliran for the first time face to face among green trees, in the center of Kibbutz Toval in the Galilee. I met an impressive man, smiling and pleasant to talk to. Such a humble man who is connected to nature and the beauty of creation in every inch of his limbs, a man whose art of healing and passion for knowledge and understanding of the biological processes of our bodies and the symbiosis between them and the environment in which we live, flows through him and radiates from him.
I know this because throughout the time we've known each other, every time I read something Eliran writes or when we get to argue about one issue or another, I always feel the same feeling, Not from one or another "therapist" who talks over you, from a place of ultimate knowledge, but from a place of partnership, equality, humility and a true and sincere desire to accompany you on your way to achieving an optimal quality of life. A process of restoring health to your life, something that has been there since time immemorial and perhaps in the race of modern life, has been lost.
What is health? After all, this is not material that can be obtained from one meeting, one consultation. This is not a pill or a medicine or a supplement or a plant that can be bought at Beit Teva. Health is not achieved from a menu that is stuck with a magnet on the refrigerator or from a post that we read on the Internet. Health is not achieved from acupuncture or chiropractic care or an organic green smoothie.
Health is first of all something that is within us. Health is intrinsic/internal that is built into each of us from the moment we are born and the role of a good therapist, in my humble opinion, is first and foremost to restore balance and let the body do what it needs to do and with as few interruptions as possible.
This is exactly Eliran's approach. In fact it is his language. And, as a doctor for many years now, I can't help but agree more with this approach.
Eliran, brings himself, his experience and his wisdom of life based on countless hours of reading and studying. Eliran is an autodidact which is rare to find nowadays and the knowledge he has acquired over the years is unfathomable even to me, as someone who has lived and breathed the world of medicine for the past twenty years. Aliran has a rare ability to separate the main from the bland , to see the picture as a whole and understand that asparagus or sprouted lentils or kale, despite the multitude of vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants they contain, do not turn a person from sick to healthy.
Eliran succeeds with most of his talent in conveying topics that I know from medical studies as extremely complex, in an easy, simple and immersive way. Such that as you listen and progress with the lectures, you just want to get more and more from him. It is not always easy to digest the words. You will surely have objections.
It is natural because in the world we live in today where information is available at the click of a mouse to anyone, but at the same time can be misleading, confusing and creates chaos in the understanding that ordinary people have about health and medicine issues, in such a world, many of us are sure of certain truths to the point of faith In the religion "veganism is the only way. Fish is poison. Berries are a superfood. Everything but sugar. Everything but salt. Fat is essential. Fat is full of toxins..." and countless other such and other approaches. People from all the 'nutritional camps' go to war every day for their opinions and their religion.
Eliran, being a man of peace, instead of going to war over his opinions, presents them in a quiet, matter-of-fact, professional manner and supported as much as possible by medical research. And although these are his opinions, or this is his position in his understanding of the existing professional literature (and this can also be debated), throughout the series of lectures he repeatedly encourages the audience to think critically, to question his statements and not to follow him as followers who follow their guru.
Eliran asks, or even requires, the students to develop tools for self-study, self-reading and understanding the importance of placing question marks at the end of each sentence. At Eliran you won't hear statements like - it's like that because I said it or it's like that because I know or it's like that because from my experience it's like that.
Yes, you will hear a statement like - it's like that because that's what the current research supports. Maybe it will change in the future but as of today, this is what is known and clear from the nutritional or medical research and in doing so, there is a big news and a fundamental difference between the content conveyed by him and what I got to hear from many other therapists. During the series of lectures, beyond the nutritional topics, a lot of attention is also given to topics that are rarely heard of elsewhere. Areas related to the air we breathe, the water we drink, the importance of the sun for human health, issues related to mental health and the close connection between physical health and mental health and many more.
Eliran is no longer a nutrition or diet consultant, despite being one of the most educated people in the field. This series of lectures is also not a program that deals with nutritional recommendations or recommendations for weight loss. In such a complex world where many factors are mixed with each other, influencing each other, for better or for worse. In this world Eliran makes order. It begins with explanations of basic processes related to the human body, to the effects of nutrition on our genetic expression and from there, heel to toe, progresses further and further into the depth of things, while covering a huge amount of topics that are all, without exception, connected to the basic essence of health.
It is not just about informative content, such as can be obtained through books or standard lectures, but it is about imparting a very deep approach and understanding to all aspects of achieving health and balance in our lives. In order to know how not to hinder the body from doing what it knows very well to do, it is necessary to understand first and foremost what are the obstacles.
A great many variables enter into this equation and Eliran's uniqueness is in his wonderful ability to explain each of these variables as eloquently and simply as possible, one by one, until the puzzle is completed. The same puzzle that makes up the concept of health and can allow each of us the good, pleasant and happy life we deserve.
In my opinion, and after listening to Eliran's content with great attention, I have no doubt that any person who wants to take responsibility for his life and health will be able to benefit greatly from the messages that Eliran has to convey. Even if you don't agree with all the statements, even if you doubt some of them, you can still get an instructive lesson in understanding the processes that contribute to and harm our health, you can understand the subtle connections between the multitude of systems in the body and the interactions between them, you can learn the effects of the body on the mind and the mind on the body, and all that While receiving tools for self-study, for asking questions and casting doubt on all kinds of "truths" that are published every morning in the press and media.
This is a program that, in my opinion, can give you a firm and solid foundation in understanding the concept of health, one that you can take for many years to come and can guide you in making the right choices. The choice is yours. What to eat, how to move, how much to sleep, how to achieve peace of mind. Eliran succeeds in an unusual way and in his unique way of giving the tools and allowing each of you to make the right choices for you.
As a family doctor for about 12 years, with close to 2,000 patients in three clinics, I can only admire such a wonderful program. Deep, thorough, detailed and inspiring hope for the ability to make a real and lasting change, with a great degree of sensitivity, which can bring about a dramatic benefit in the quality of life, in the prevention of chronic diseases and in achieving true health for each of us. At any age and in any situation.
To the health of all of us!
